Hurricane, Utah - Howard Leon Bowne, age 82, passed away at home on the morning of November 1, 2012. He was born March 7, 1930 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Ornealo Chaffin and Virgil W. Bowne. He and his wife, Barbara "Babe" were married February 14, 1976 in Santa Barbara, California.

Howard was raised in Idaho, farming and ranching until his high school years when the family moved to Santa Barbara. He graduated from SBHS and built his business in masonry and excavation. He was a hard working man, dedicated to family and LDS religion. He enjoyed old westerns, motorcycles, guns, the outdoors and traveling yearly to see family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara. Their combined family consists of Debra Bowne, Clint Whitney, Mike Bowne, Elaine Boggioni, Elbert L. Whitney and Rebekah Mae Searle; along with 10 grandchildren; 7 great- grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 5, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Metcalf Hurricane Valley Mortuary, 140 North Main Street, Hurricane, Utah. A visitation will be held Monday, prior to services, at 12:00 p.m. at the Mortuary Interment will follow at the Hurricane City Cemetery.
