West Jordan, UT - Howard Ralph Hoggan, age 92, died at his home in West Jordan, Utah. He passed away peacefully of natural causes on Saturday December 12, 2009. Born February 22, 1917 in Ogden,Utah, he mainly lived in Walla Walla, Washington and worked as a Civil Engineer for the US Army Corps of Engineers until retiring late 70's and moved to St. George to be closer to his wife's parents. His final 10 years were spent living with family in West Jordan. Just a few of his milestones: California mission, served in the Navy during World War II, and served in many positions in the LDS church but most importantly he was a fabulous father. Survivors include his children: Ralph (Kittie), Lynn (Karen), Craig, Jana and Susan.-his brother Marvin(Ruth) and sister Margie Hansen and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Howard was preceded in death by his much loved wife Iris Jones, brothers Louis, Arvard, and sister Ruth Robinson. A visitation will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the Mountain View Stake Center (2901 W. 9000 S. West Jordan, Utah). Graveside services and interment will be at St. George City Cemetery on Wednesday, December 16 at 3:00 pm. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
