Obituary

St. George, Utah - Our beloved mother, Iluminada de Rivera Mojica, peacefully passed away in her sleep on July 25, 2015 at the age of 81. She was born December 6, 1933. Mom was a pinnacle of faith and a testament to perseverance. Despite being advised that she had only months to live due to metastatic breast cancer in 2010, she knew that the God she adored had further purpose for her life. Words of the Lord were never far from her lips as she doted on her grandchildren. She now resides cancer-free in the Kingdom of Heaven. Mom was a caretaker from childhood, and did not feel comfortable unless she was tending to the needs of others. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, she traveled to the United States to live in the states of New York, New Jersey, Illinois, and Utah. First and foremost, mom was correctly perceived to be the matriarch of the family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ignacio and Agustina Rivera; and siblings: Enrique, David, Josefina, and Luisa. She leaves behind five children: Luis C. Mojica, Evelyn (James) McAdam, Eileen Mojica, Brenda (William) Frazier and Dan Mojica. Additionally, she leaves behind eight cherished grandchildren: Joshua G. Grenville, James J. McAdam, Melissa V. McAdam, Daniel L. Mojica, Timothy E. Frazier, Riley M. Frazier, Iluminada Mojica, and Cristin Mojica. Further, she leaves countless cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends in the continental United States and Puerto Rico. Her family wishes to express profound gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from friends and family. Memorial services will be arranged at a later date in Western New York.
