J. Howard Lien St. George, UT - J. Howard Lien passed away on May 17, 2010 in St. George, UT surrounded by his family. Howard was born June 17, 1928 on the family farm near Outlook, MT to John and Cora Lien. He attended school in Outlook and graduated from Outlook High School in 1946. He married Betty Lou Stewart on March 14, 1949 in Plentywood, MT. Howard and Betty moved to Grenora, ND where Howard managed the Farmers elevator for many years. In 1965 they packed up their family and moved to Fairfield, MT where Howard managed the GTA elevator for a short time. He later took a job with the Columbus Hospital in Great Falls and retired in 1988. Howard spent his retirement years in Fairfield remodeling his home and maintaining an immaculate yard. He also volunteered at the Fairfield Senior Center and helped with numerous projects. In 2005 Howard and Betty moved to St. George, UT to be near their children. Howard is survived by his wife, Betty; his children, Rick (Kathy), Tim (Lil), and Susan (Jim) Hohenboken; grandchildren, Kris (Kim) Lien and Katie Lien, and great-granddaughter, Olivia. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Coralie Hass. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 28, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at New Promise Lutheran Church, 244 South Valley View Dr., St. George, UT 84790. with interment at the Highland Cemetery in Outlook, MT.
