St. George, UT - Jack Larry Plattner, born October 6, 1930 in Coffeyville, Kansas, died May 25, 2009, at Irish Cottage at the age of 78, preceded in death by his wife ReNee. Jack graduated from Cyprus High School in Magna Utah in 1949. A faithful husband and loving father Jack began his professional career working for the railroad later moving into a sales position with Kimberly Clark. He also worked for Johnson Controls before branching off into his own business, Technical Specialties. Jack was a 32 year member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks enjoying many years and friendships at the Murray Lodge. Survived by his three children Steve Chicago, IL., Stacey Painter Murray, UT., (Troy) and Greg West Valley, UT., (Jacque). There are six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren of which he was very proud. The family wishes to thank Claudia Bartlett for her devoted care in Jacks final weeks and Bernie Laub at Irish Cottage for making him comfortable in his last hours. Graveside services will be held Monday June 1st, 2009, at 11a.m., at the Tonaquint Cemetery, under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary 435-673-4221.
