St. George, Utah
– Jack Sisk, 96, passed away April 5, 2017. He was born March 29, 1921 to Charles and Lowral Johnston Sisk and grew-up Red Lick, Texas. He was the oldest of fifteen children.
Jack joined the Navy with the outbreak of WWII. He was a naval pilot and flew missions in the Pacific Ocean during that time. When he came home, he met his first wife, Katherine. They were married in St. Augustine, Florida and had three children: Rebecca, Stanton and Cameron.
In 1951, Jack was called back into active duty and flew missions in Korea. When he came back, he finished his studies and graduated from Tulane Law School, Louisiana in 1954. He got the bug to move to California and finally settled in Rancho Palos Verdes. He passed the California Bar Exam and joined a law firm and became a partner until he retired. He served 26 years in the Navy total, and was a retired Navy Captain.
In 1968, his wife, Katherine passed away and he was left with two children to raise. In 1972, Jack met Alice Keenan (who had two children: Virginia and Gail). In 1975 they were married in Rancho Palos Verdes, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and with the children from both sides attending.
During the next few years they traveled all over the world and visited children and grandchildren. In 2004 they sold the house and bought a house in St. George, Utah. They lived there until 2017 when they moved into their daughter's house.
His kids and grandkids called him "Pop" and whenever they got together they were playing dominoes or card games which he never tired of. If you mentioned dominoes, he was always ready.
Pop was an inspiration to his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. He was always positive when it came to family, He was first to support the decisions they made in life and was there with a helping hand when needed.
Jack is survived by his wife, Alice; four children: Rebecca, Virginia, Stan and Cameron; six grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; and siblings: Frank, Jim, David, Glen and Alma Jo. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings: Billy, Rene, Lois, Ed, Nell, Ruth and Harvey.
He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He was an inspiration and a role model for all who knew him.
You can still hear him saying "Dominoes or Cadillac"
Memorial services will be held Friday, May 19, 2017 at 8:40 a.m. in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City, Nevada. A reception will follow.
