Born on January 18, 1932, in San Diego, California, he entered this world with a spirit that would profoundly impact those around him for over nine decades.

Devoted to his faith, James was an invaluable participant in his church community. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he demonstrated unwavering commitment and spiritual leadership, offering his warmth and wisdom to everyone he encountered.

James' early life was distinguished by his service in the United States Army from 1951 to 1954 as part of the Army Security Agency, embodying the values of duty and honor. After his military service, he became a member of the San Diego Rowing Club, he was also an avid bowler, nurturing his love for team spirit and camaraderie.

In the realm of music, James found both joy and purpose, teaching accordion and piano during the 1950's and 1960's. His lessons resonated beyond the keys, imparting discipline and creativity to his students, a legacy that echoes in every melody played in his honor.

James married Anita Roberts on October 19, 1957, at the picturesque Bar 49 Ranch in Napa, California. Their marriage, grounded in deep affection and mutual respect, spanned nearly six decades until Anita's passing. Together, they raised a beautiful family who brought them joy and fulfillment.
