Jim was a 10-year employee of Intermountain Healthcare and a founding member of the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy program at DRMC. He re-enlisted in the Army two years later and completed a cardio pulmonary certification at Bethesda Naval Hospital. He served in active and reserve duty capacity for 27 years. Jim was proud of his service and had fond memories, especially of his 12 years at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC. Jim retired from active duty in San Antonio, Texas in 1996.

While serving in Germany, he ran a marathon in East Berlin before the wall came down. He learned to scuba dive with his dear friend Kevin Dye and enjoyed the trip of a lifetime to Truk Lagoon and Palau with Drs. Larry and Joan Eggert. He loved hiking Utah, golfing and driving his green corvette.
Jim was survived by his fianc Cindy Richardson of St. George, his daughter Jamie Wojcik of Tallahassee, his parents, one brother, one sister, one grandchild, and many friends and adopted family from across the country. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marie "Minnie" Prince. "Think where man's glory most begins and ends, and say my glory was I had such friends." - William Butler Yeats
