IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Jim
Homer
April 23, 1945 – October 7, 2023
Washington Utah - James "Jim" Healey Homer, 78, of Washington, UT, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 7, 2023, in Washington, UT after a battle with cancer. He was born on April 23, 1945, in American Fork, UT, to the late Dr William A Homer and Edith Lyle Healey Homer.
A man of strong character, Jim was known for his unwavering positivity and cheerfulness. He had an innate ability to help those in need and could fix almost anything. Jim's dedication and hard work led him to attain a degree in accounting from Southern Utah University and to become the proud founder and president of Intermountain Lubricants and Supply, Inc. in Casper, Wyoming. Jim retired in 2004 and moved to St George, UT in 2005.
Jim married Diane Wilson on May 18, 1973, in Las Vegas. They were sealed to each other in the St George Temple January 28, 2015, and to their five children later that year. Jim found peace and comfort in knowing that he was sealed to his family for eternity.
Jim was a devoted husband to his wife, Diane Homer, and a loving father to his children: Tonya Nolen (Albert), Megan Homer, Michelle Morris (Benjamin), Jason Homer (Kortney), and Chelsea Homer. He was also a cherished grandfather to Thaddeus, Ben, McKayla, Michael, William, Violet, and Odin. Jim is also survived by his brother, Robert "Bob" Homer and sister, Wilma Mortensen.
Jim had an avid interest in NASCAR and would go to the Daytona 500 every year with close friends. He loved the exhilaration of riding his side by side with friends, and he called it "desert therapy." He knew almost every trail in Southern Utah and Nevada. Jim loved and followed politics closely. He proudly served as HOA president until shortly before his death.
Jim's departure leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of his loved ones. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering optimism will forever be cherished as a testament to his character.
