Obituary

St. George, UT - Our loving husband and father, age 85, peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father Saturday morning, December 3, 2011. He was born on November 13, 1926 in Rexburg, Idaho to Asael and Margaret Hunter Taylor. He married his eternal companion, Marjorie Rae Preece on September 28, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Dad was raised in Rexburg, Idaho with his 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Dad has fond memories of pedaling papers, herding cows and playing with his lifetime friend, Wally Bell. The day after his high school graduation he joined the Army and served during World War II. Dad attended Stevens Henager Business College and received a degree in Accounting. Dad had a long career with Standard Oil working both in Salt Lake City and Independence, Missouri.

Dad enjoyed wood working and his grandchildren will always remember the rocking horses and marble games he built for them. His greatest love was his family and taking care of his "Margie."

Dad was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He enjoyed using his organization skills to serve in many leadership positions in the church. Dad and Mom served a mission in the St. George area and also served in the St. George Temple for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marjorie; his children: Becky (Mark) Woodbury of St. George, Barbara (Mark) Fenstermaker of Sandy, John Taylor of Corvallis, Oregon; grandchildren: Lynette (Rick) Ballard, Curtis, Kristen, Lindsay, McKay, and Kimmie; sister, Mary Jane Misner; and brother, John (Jack) Taylor.

Our family would like to thank everyone at Cliffview Assisted Living for their loving and dedicated care to our parents.3
