Enterprise Utah – Janet Howell Allred passed away unexpectedly at home on January 13, 2023. Janet touched the hearts of everyone she met, and her absence will be significantly felt.

Janet was born on April 16, 1960, to Allen Jay and Tamra Gardner Howell. She graduated from Bingham High School in 1978 as an accomplished gymnast. She placed three years running in the Utah State All-Around, earning her a scholarship. She was able to use her skills to vault her way into a college gymnastics career at Southern Utah State College, where she graduated in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education.

While attending college in Cedar City, Utah she met Terry Allred. They married on September 14, 1985 and were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 3, 1993. Janet and Terry made their first home in Tonopah, Nevada and 11 years later moved to Enterprise, Utah.

Janet possessed an adventurous spirit and found great delight in every excursion. She enjoyed everything from long family road trips in the Trooper to relaxing in the hot springs of Pagosa. She loved riding motorcycles with Terry until she "aged out" and then she loved touring with Terry in the Miata.

Janet had an intense love for her family and enjoyed sharing their accomplishments with others.

Janet is survived by her husband, Terry; daughter, Amber (Patrick) Sappington; daughter, Jena Allred; and son, Ethan Allred. She is also survived by her father, Allen Howell; siblings: Gregg (Connie) Howell, Sandy Howell, Staci (Craig) Sutherland, Kristen (Greg) Salazar, Katie (Justin) Martin; and sister-in-law, Ashlyn (Bob) Oshinski. She was preceded in death by her mother, Tamra Howell, and her in-laws, Vance and Alta Terry Allred.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Enterprise Stake Center, 80 South Center Street, Enterprise, Utah. A visitation will be held Saturday, prior to services, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Stake Center. Interment will be in the Enterprise City Cemetery.
