Janet Ilene Brundage Hickman
(October 24, 1934 – June 9, 2026)
Janet Ilene Brundage Hickman passed away peacefully encircled by family on June 9, 2026. She was born in Grand Island, Nebraska to Kenneth Floyd and Gladys Elizabeth Brundage. She and her brother Ronald Kenneth Brundage were raised on a farm near Crawford, NE. She attended Crawford High School, after which she attended Chadron State College for a year and then married James (Jim) Hickman on October 24,1953. She and James had two sons, Terry James Hickman and Kelly Robert Hickman.
During her married life, she lived in several states and three years in Germany while her husband, James, served in the U.S. Army. After James died in 1995, she spent years in California near her mother, Gladys, who passed in 2010 at the age of 95. She also spent some time living with each of her two sons in California/Nevada and Utah. During the last three to four years, she has lived at Legacy Village, where she has made many friends. She has enjoyed loving, serving, and living amongst these special friends.
Janet is survived by her two sons, Terry (Victoria) and Kelly (Cathy); her six grandchildren (Brian, Eric, Matthew, Mauri, Amanda, and Kristin) 15 great-grandchildren, and her four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James, and her brother, Ronald, and of course, her parents, Kenneth and Gladys.
She will be missed by many at Legacy and all her family, but we are so grateful that she has no more pain. “Gone but never forgotten and HER legacy lives on eternally.
We love you, Mom (Grandma)!”
Graveside services, conducted by Pastor Greg Wright from the Westside Baptist Church, will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the Santa Clara Cemetery, 1950 Ancestor Way, Santa Clara, Utah, where she will rest next to her sweetheart Jim.
