St. George, Utah –
Janice Dalling passed away May 3, 2016 in St. George, UT. Janice was born February 23, 1940 in Visalia, California to Roy Donald Hawkins and Ruth Ible (Ray) Hawkins. She had one brother Joseph Legrand Hawkins and one sister Pamela Cope.
She graduated from Shawnee High School in Shawnee, Oklahoma and later attended BYU where she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree. Janice was an Elementary school teacher and mother of three children.
Janice's father and mother were converts to the LDS Church, along with Janice who joined the LDS church at age 15.
She married Gerald Ray Dalling on January 17th 1966 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She and Gerald met in the North LDS 13th Ward in Salt Lake City, Utah. Janice continued to teach until the end of the school year.
Janice was an avid book reader. She was also active in theater, film and art forms and served in many positions in the church and community including President of the female auxiliary of the SLC Exchange Club and President of the SLC Drama Club.
She is survived by her husband Gerald Ray Dalling, children Jeffery Ray Dalling, Kendall Roy Dalling and Kelly Ray Dalling; grandchildren from Kelly Ray Dalling, Spencer Ray Dalling, Brent Vaughn Dalling and Savannah Elma-Ray Dalling. From Kendall Roy Dalling, Gary Dalling and Kendalynn Joy Dalling.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Morningside LDS Stake Center, 881 South River Road, St. George, Utah. Visitations will be Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd and Saturday, prior to services from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the Stake Center. Interment will be in the Tonaquint Cemetery.
