St. George, UT - Janice Rae Keif died on May 15, 2010 in St George. Born on January 6, 1929 to Ray Warner Major and Venice Tibbitts Major in Logan, Utah. Married Jerome G Hileman in 1949 and was later divorced. She married Aubrey J. Keif on March 30,1962. Two of her brothers, Jack W. Major and Lynn T. Major, preceded her in death. She is survived by her brothers David W. Major (Cleone) and Kenneth S. Major (Deanne), her sister Catherine A. Jones (Reid) and her children Stephen Ray Hileman, Elisha Belmont and grandchildren, Samuda Ferrebee, Angelica Rose Belmont (Ricky), and Rocco Belmont (Jackie), two great-grandchildren Nellie and Kai. Her husband, Aubrey preceded her in death. Jan attended school at Providence, Utah, South Cache High School, University of Utah and Utah State University. Jans employment with the Bell System spanned 36 yrs. She started at Mountain Bell in Logan, Utah and retired from AT&T, Basking Ridge, New Jersey in 1987, having served at facilities in Salt Lake, Phoenix and Denver. Jan lost her valiant 15 year fight with cancer. She was a strong and loving person who always gave of herself. Jan was an awesome mother and true and caring friend. After her retirement she spent many hours as a volunteer on various projects. Jans strength and positive energy was an inspiration to all who came in contact with her. She was loved by all who knew her and will be truly missed by many. At the request of the deceased there will be no memorial service.
