IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jeffrey Allyn
Boatman
April 29, 1954 – August 14, 2023
Jeffrey Allyn Boatman was born on April 29, 1954, in Modesto, CA to Charlie and Patricia Boatman. He passed peacefully on August 14, 2023, in Glendale, AZ at the age of 69. He was preceded through the veil by his son, Bryan "BJ" Boatman. He is survived by his wife, Anne Morris Boatman; children: Rebecca and her husband Marcus Matua, Jason Boatman, Justin Boatman and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Boatman; and six grandchildren: Claire Boatman, Kaden, Audrey, Tanner, Malia, and Tyson Matua. He loved his family above all, they were his greatest joy.
Jeffrey was friendly and forthright with whomever he met. He was always willing to help someone in need in whatever way he could. This would show throughout his professional life where he joined the Army National Guard. He decided he needed something to be committed to. During the 21 ½ years he received multiple areas of expertise. He attended Navy Dive School and became a Master Diver, which was used while serving in a bridge platoon. He then achieved his lifelong dream of becoming a pilot. He helped others through his time as a pilot. He flew EMS, fought forest fires, and provided aid to those that could not be reached any other way. Later while continuing to fly, he had the opportunity to become a Glendale firefighter and served faithfully for 12 ½ years. He was forced into a medical retirement and would have loved to serve as a firefighter for many more years.
In 1994 he fulfilled his wife's long-time dream of starting his own helicopter company. Airwest Helicopters, which still exist today. He loved being of service to people through the use of helicopters. He loved to fly and loved what his desktop was each day.
He was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on May 27, 1962. His faith was integral to his life and gave him the strength to overcome the many difficulties throughout his life. He served faithfully in many capacities throughout his life, including an Oklahoma City Mission. He fulfilled many Church callings during his life. He especially enjoyed playing with the kids in the nursery, we always said it was because he was a child himself. He also loved Scouting and was an Eagle Scout. He loved to joke and make people smile and could tell a story a hundred different ways. He is now in paradise, where he can rest from his pain, troubles, from all care, and sorrow. Till we meet again.
