Obituary

St. George, Utah - Jeneve Heugly Samuelson, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Wednesday, February 8, 2012.

Jeneve was born in East Millcreek, Utah on April 23, 1923 to Wilford Livingston Heugly and Florida (Flora) Wheat. She was the 5th of 10 children and loved growing up in East Millcreek and has many wonderful childhood memories.

Jeneve married Valoran (Boe) William Samuelson on July 11, 1942 in Olympia, Washington, prior to Boe's departure for active duty during World War II. Jeneve and Boe were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on January 20. 1949.

Jeneve and Boe built their first home in East Millcreek, and then because Boe was a building contractor, built homes in Cottonwood Heights, Sandy, and then after their family was grown built their final home in Riverton. Boe passed away in Riverton July 25, 1989 and then Jeneve moved to St. George to be closer to her daughters and grandchildren. She loved St. George and the friends she had made here and enjoyed walking and was often seen walking about getting her exercise.

Jeneve loved her children Nancie, Robyn & Val and was always proud of their accomplishments.

She loved being a mom and a homemaker and kept her yard and home meticulous. She was a wonderful cook, and passed the love of cooking to both her daughters and son. She was an incredible seamstress, making all of her daughters clothing and dance costumes for years. She and Boe always had a beautiful garden and orchard. She always felt that it wasn't enough to grow it, she had to can it all as well. It was important for both of them to always be self-reliant.

She loved working side by side with Boe whether it was laying flooring in the new home they were building, working with the animals or in manicuring their beautiful yard.

She was dedicated to her family and wanted to be a part of their lives and always wanted to help out however she could. She made over a hundred comfort blankets for the Children's Justice Center over the last few years along with several stuffed toys for the humanitarian center. She always had to be busy with something to do.

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the temple and was grateful for the time she was able to serve there.

She is survived by her children Nancie (Dale) Curtis, Robyn (Mark) Nilsson, and a daughter-in-law Coleen Samuelson 15 grandchildren Jeff, Trent, Shae, Clint, Jason, Spencer, Nathan, Jared, Jessica (Wilkins) Curtis, Ryan and Eric Nilsson, Jay, Jill (Weaver), Katie and Spencer Samuelson, 45 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, sisters Jean Schofield, Elaine Eldredge (Doug), Marlene Anderson (Morris) and brother Joe Heugly, along with many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her faithful companion and husband Boe, son Val, parents and sisters Jane, Edith, Bernice, brother Glenn and two nephews. We can only imagine the joyful reunion that was had Wednesday morning. We love you mom and miss you already.

Jeneve's family would like to express their many thanks to Zion's Way Home Heath over the past month, Kolob Care and Rehabilitation over the past week and express their sincere gratitude to Sterling Court Assisted Living for their tender care, love, support and friendship over the past 3 years.
