IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jeremy
Richards
June 22, 1982 – April 2, 2024
Hurricane, Utah – Jeremy Richards, beloved father, husband, and son suddenly and tragically left this world April 2, at just 41 years old, leaving a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him.
Born on June 22, 1982, in Palm Beach, Florida, Jeremy moved with his family coast to coast before finding his final home in southern Utah, at the age of 17, where he graduated from high school and would spend the remainder of his life.
Jeremy was an adventurer at heart, with his love for the outdoors deeply rooted in his upbringing in Oregon and Alaska. He fondly recalled his childhood exploring forests, salmon fishing, and building igloos. As an adult, Jeremy's weekends were reserved for the fishing boat, eagerly anticipating the next catch, and bonding with his family exploring the southern Utah landscape. He truly found peace in nature.
Above all, Jeremy's world revolved around his beloved little family. Erica, his cherished wife and the love of his life, became his steadfast companion in 2005. They embarked on life together as best friends, committed to one another through all of life's ups and downs. Erica and Jeremy carved out their life in Hurricane, where Jeremy found his life's purpose when he became a father. He nearly burst with pride when his son, Carter was born in 2010 and was equally smitten when daughter Addalyn arrived in 2014. Jeremy's dream of embracing a furry companion came true with their goldendoodle Sadie, completing their loving family.
His passion for sports led Jeremy to excel on high school basketball teams and later finding fulfillment in coaching his children through their athletic achievements. He delighted in nurturing Addalyn's passion for gymnastics, working with her in the family room night after night. He found true joy coaching Carter's basketball team, instilling values of teamwork and dedication, and spent countless hours on the golf course with Carter, whose budding golf talent was a source of immense pride as he taught him all he knew.
Jeremy's professional journey was marked by his skilled craftsmanship in carpentry, where his meticulous attention to detail and innate talent shone brightly. An incredibly patient mentor and teacher, Jeremy generously shared his knowledge with his children and coworkers, imparting wisdom on everything from small engine repair to intricate cabinetry installations.
Jeremy was incredibly bright and always curious; he'd dive headfirst into new interests and passions, and he loved talking about them. We will miss those conversations. He loved deeply and hated being away from his family even for a day. Jeremy had a kind, affable disposition, and simply loved to love, and be loved.
Jeremy's legacy lives on through the love and memories he leaves behind, forever etched in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. We will forever miss him.
Jeremy is survived by his devoted wife, Erica; adored son, Carter; beloved daughter, Adalynn; mother, Deanna Richards; father, Rusty Richards; sister, Jessica Richards; and brother, Josh Richards. He is also remembered fondly by his aunts, and countless in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. Jeremy is preceded in death by his angel twins, Marley and Macey, and his grandpa who await his embrace in eternity.
