Our beloved father, husband, son, brother and friend returned to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on April 23, 2018 after fighting a valiant battle with narcolepsy, depression, and bipolar disorder. He was born February 17, 1981 in Savannah, GA, to Richard Moorhead Young and Patricia Jeanne Fleming Boyd. Jeremy married the love of his life, Megan Hatch in the St. George LDS temple on April 26, 2008. They created a wonderful life together and are the parents of three beautiful children: Hadley, Conrad, and Ava.
Jeremy was raised in Savannah, GA where he attended Benedictine Military High School and learned from his parents to be a true southern gent. He grew up with a love for billiards - he could play a mean game of pool and enjoyed competing in amateur tournaments. He also loved fishing; he spent many hours fishing with his wife and children, creating memories that they will always cherish.
Jeremy loved his Savior and at age 22, was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Despite being older than most other missionaries, Jeremy chose to serve a mission and served the people in Pocatello, Idaho with all his might, mind and strength. He loved to serve the Lord and share his testimony; he served in his church as a Bishopric Counselor, Elders Quorum President, Ward Mission Leader, and Temple & Family History Leader.
Jeremy earned his degree from Dixie State University in Business and Psychology. He was a natural leader and worked in many business management positions throughout his life. He had a great passion and love for gemstones and jewelry. In 2016, Jeremy and Megan's dream came true when they opened their own business, Forever Young Fine Jewelers, where they were awarded "Best Jewelry Store in Southern Utah" and "Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year."
Jeremy was a true friend to everyone he met. His large bright smile was contagious and he genuinely cared and listened to everyone. We love you Jeremy—thank you for sharing your life and light with us.
Jeremy is survived by his wife, Megan; his two sons: Hadley and Conrad; and his daughter, Ava. He is also survived by his parents, Richard and Pam Young and Jeanne and Hollis Boyd; sisters: Lindsey Greene and Rebecca (Ryan) Kimball; brother, Ryan Young; grandmother, Jackie Young; and grandfather, Paul (Joan) Fleming. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Nyram Young; grandmother, Patricia Faye Haupt Bailey; and grandfather, Edward Lewis Bailey, Jr.
The family wishes to thank everyone for all the tremendous love and support they have received at this time.
