St. George, Utah - Jerry Brecke, 71 , passed away May 3, 2011 surrounded by her family from Bone Cancer. She was born August 15, 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Gare and Olive Sorensen. She married her sweetheart, Fred Brecke on March 19, 1966. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Jerry is survived by her husband and their dog, Jake of St. George, Utah; daughter, Alison (Jed) Snow of Ivins, Utah; son, Garen (Shannon) Brecke of St. George, Utah; 15 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Syd (John) Hellyer; sister-in-law, Joyce Snow and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Jerry was preceded in death by her parents; her son Kelly Brecke; and sister, Sandi Jackson. The family wishes to express their love and thanks to those who cared for Jerry the past few weeks. Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Tonaquint Cemetery in St. George, Utah. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at Southwest Community Federal Credit Union in the care of Alison Snow for Jerry Brecke to help defray medical and funeral cost.
