St. George, Utah - Joan Bergman Aiken, 74, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2013 at her home in St. George, Utah. She was born August 7, 1938 in Salt Lake City , Utah to Reuben W. And Margaret LeDuc Bergman.

Joanie loved dancing and studied ballet at Ralph Cannon Studios. She danced in musicals at Granite High School where she met her husband, Max Aiken, during her junior year. They were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on February 28, 1957.

Joanie was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Paul W. Bergman. She is survived by her husband, Max; son, Gary; daughter, Diane; four wonderful grandchildren: Shannon (Calvin) Oakes, Jennifer (Jeff) Ashton, Eric (Serelle) Taylor and Alisa Taylor (Corbin); and great-grandchild, Colt Taylor.

Memorial services will be held Friday, June 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary Chapel, 4760 South State Street, Murray, Utah. Family and friends may gather from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to services at the Mortuary. Interment will follow at the Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
