JoAnn Edmunds St. George, UT - JoAnn Edmunds, 72, of St. George, Utah, passed away November 14, 2011. She was born February 12, 1939 in Provo, Utah to the late Helen and Leo Knight. She attended Provo High School and Utah State University and was a stewardess for United Airlines. She married her first husband, Gary Peterson and had two daughters, Leslie and Kelly. She later divorced Gary and decided not to remarry until her daughters were raised. She lived in Southern California for 26 years, and worked as an Executive Secretary for over 25 years and retired from Hughes Aircraft/Raytheon. She enjoyed spending time with her three grandsons, Kevin, Brandon & Jordan. JoAnn met Joseph T. Edmunds, Jr. and they were married on April 16, 2005 in the St. George Temple where she was blessed to join her 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren with his family of 8 children, 29 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren which she loved and treated as her own. JoAnn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was very dedicated to her family and church and served in many callings. Relief Society was one of her favorites, and she enjoyed teaching and being a visiting teacher. She also served as a temple worker in the Los Angeles Temple. She was currently serving a mission with her husband at the LDS Employment Services in St. George. JoAnn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She made friends easily and was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. She loved serving others and would volunteer for every service project that she could. She enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, cooking and watching BYU football and basketball games. JoAnn is survived by her husband, Joseph T. Edmunds, Jr.; daughters: Leslie (Jason) Guthrie, Kelly (Jeff) James, 8 stepchildren: Bonnie West, Randy (Leslie) Edmunds, Laurie (Robert) Reeve, Garry (Dani) Edmunds, Alice (Wade) Potter, Bill (Jenny) Edmunds, Kim (Anthony) Baird, and Jodie Edmunds; 32 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, sisters: Vicky (Terry) Dickens, Karen (Bill) Brooksby, Kay (Larry) Brown, and brother Steven Pringle, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. George 1st Ward LDS Chapel, 591 West 500 North, St. George, Utah. Visitations will be held on Friday, November 18, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd, and on Saturday, one hour prior to services at the chapel.
