John Henry Von Ohlen passed away May 26, 2016, at his home in St. George Utah.

John is survived by his wife Mari Ann and his children Kathy Gonzales, Bill (Sonja) Von Ohlen and Patrice (Jerry) Fuchs as well as his sister Karen (Bill) Grunst, his grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

John was born on July 11, 1934 in Mason City Iowa to Edward & Lillian Von Ohlen. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Russell Von Ohlen.

John served in the 82 nd Airborne Division of the United States Army. Following his service in the military he received a degree in mechanical engineering and spent his entire career working for IBM. John was a Senior Engineering Manager and received an Excellence Award for his management role in the development of the floppy disk.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. George Catholic Church on Friday, June 3, 2016, at 10:00am.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of John to your local Alzheimer's organization.
