St. George, Utah - Johnnie B. Lozano, age 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 1, 2014 in St. George, Utah. Johnnie was born September 23, 1921 in Harlingen, Texas to Johnnie and Herlinda Lozano. He married Norieta Ryser on September 22, 1977 in Granger, Utah. Johnnie served in the United States Navy for over 30 years and during that time he traveled the world until he retired as a Lieutenant Commander in 1971. Serving for his country was one of the best moments in his life. Johnnie also loved to go camping, fishing, and hunting with his family. He loved being with his family, and he always made his family laugh. Johnnie was so loving and caring for everyone around him. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him. Johnnie is survived by his wife, Norieta; daughter: Gloria (Vert) Eason, Las Vegas, NV; sons: Craig (Kaye) Kent, West Valley, UT, Dennis (Terrie) Kent , St. George, UT, Gary Kent, St. George, UT; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the LDS Sunset LDS 2nd Ward Chapel, 820 North Valley View Drive, St. George, Utah. Visitations will be held Friday, November 14th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah and Saturday prior to services from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the chapel. Interment will be at the Tonaquint Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, 435-673-4221. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be sent to the Southern Utah Veterans Home, 160 N 200 E, Ivins, UT, 84738 as they took such great care of Johnnie during his stay there.
