IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jolene Marie
Stoll
November 26, 1948 – September 18, 2024
St. George, Utah –Jolene Marie (Finnerty) Stoll passed into the loving arms of her eternal family on September 18, 2024, following an extended and courageous fight with pancreatic cancer. She was born on November 26, 1948, to Col. William J. Finnerty II and Albertha Ann (Clark) Finnerty at the Sandia Air Force Base Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
As a "military brat" she lived in various places during her youth including Texas, Nebraska, Morocco, Alabama, and Kansas. It was in Kansas that she met the love of her life, Stan, while a high school student at Washburn Rural High School in Topeka, where she was head cheerleader and honor student. They dated throughout their high school years and were married on August 25, 1967, and then were sealed for time and all eternity on August 29, 1967, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They recently celebrated the 57th anniversary of a wonderful, fulfilling life together.
She attended Brigham Young University, and later took courses in accounting and bookkeeping at various educational institutions. She worked as a bookkeeper for various businesses, including over twenty years for the law firm of Blackburn & Stoll.
For Jolene, the focus of her life was her family, as wife, mother and grandmother as was her devotion to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She fulfilled many church callings in the Relief Society, Primary, as well as Gospel Doctrine teacher and an ordinance worker in the Bountiful Temple.
In 2014, she and her husband moved to the Sunriver Community in St. George, Utah. She loved the desert and enjoyed her time exploring the many mountains, canyons, and valleys of the surrounding areas in her RZR and Jeep. She was always up for seeing what was on the other side of the mountain where she had not been before.
She is survived by her husband, sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren: Stan (St George, Utah); Doug, Angela, Drew, Will (Portland, Oregon); Dan, Neda, Arshan, Amitis (Laguna Nigel, California); Dave (Seattle, Washington); and Darren, Michelle, Joseph, Alice (Springville, Utah). She is also survived by her sister-in-law Pat Finnerty (Fort Collins, Colorado) and sister/brother-in-law Sheila Tubach and her husband Jerry Tubach (Topeka, Kansas).
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, her brother Bill, and other family members and good friends with whom she has had a joyous reunion in paradise.
Special thanks are given to Dr. Ryan Wilcox and the wonderful staff at the St. George Regional Cancer Center, as well as Carli and Sharlene at Intermountain Hospice for the loving care which Jolene received from them.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jolene's name to Switchpoint Community Resource Center, 948 North 1300 West, St George, UT 84770.
