St. George, UT -Joseph Demar Stubbs passed away peacefully at DRMC in St. George, Utah, on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, with family close by. He was 87 years old. Joe was born to Margaret M. Stubbs and Clifford J. Stubbs and raised in Parowan, Utah on October 16, 1922.

Joe met his first wife Wanda Waltz (deceased) in Sea Side, Oregon , while in the Army. They had 5 loving children together. They later divorced. He then met and married Donna Fisher (deceased). They were married 34 years. Donna brought into our family her wonderful two children, Lorna and Dale. They had three children together. After the passing of Donna he met and married his wonderful and caring wife Darla. She has been a wonderful part of his life for the last 14 years until the day he passed on.

He is survived by his wife, Darla, Joe's children: Joseph, Jr., Clifford, Gary, Craig, Lorna, Loni, Christi, and TuRea and step children, Marcia, Diane, Charles, Melody, Julia, Tony, Sean, Rachel, Norman, Wendy, Don, Renon, Brian , Iris and Kevin. 32 grandchildren and 42 step grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, first and second wives, sons: Kevin and Dale, brothers: Garth and Roy, and a granddaughter Trisha

Joe was a WW II Veteran. Joe joined the Army in 1940. In 1960 Joe moved his family to St. George then joined the Utah National Guard Green Berets. He loved serving for his country. He then opened Stubbs & Sons Construction and has done construction ever since. He loved to remodel homes and his wonderful garden he has done for the last several years.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. Visitations will be held Friday, June 25, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m prior to services at the mortuary.
