Naples, Florida - Josephina (Josie) Schols Caubo, age 90, passed away peacefully on 18 March 2025 in Naples, Florida. Josie was born on 1 June 1934, in Heerlen, the Netherlands.

She was the only daughter of Peter Hubertus Schols and Louise Debrabander Schols. Josie was a devoted wife to Joseph Hendrik (Harry) Caubo for over 66 years, and was a loving mother to their son Paul, daughter-in-law Kathleen, granddaughters Kaitlin, Erin, and Kelly, and grandson-in-law Patrick Finley.

In 1957 Harry and Josie immigrated to Miami, Florida where Josie worked for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines at Miami International Airport as an air hostess and ticket sales agent.

Josie later went to Miami Dade Community College to become a Registered Nurse and proceeded to work in several hospitals in the Miami area in the Coronary Care unit, Intensive Care unit, and Emergency Room.

In 1993, Harry and Josie moved to St. George, Utah where they lived many happy and treasured years. Josie continued to work as an ER nurse until her retirement in 2008. Josie was talented in the creative arts and loved to knit, sew, and paint. She was an excellent cook, adored animals (particularly beagles) and most of all loved her family very much.

More recently, to be closer to family, they settled back in Florida. Harry and Josie were proud of their American citizenship and worked very hard to create and live a real American Dream.

A private family service was held in May 2025.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Josie's memory may be directed toward Avow Hospice, Inc.
