St. George, Utah - Josephine Dorothy Bogart Gregory "Jo" died on February 9th 2013. She was born April 30, 1920 in Geneva, New York, the only child of Charles M. Bogart and Josephine Ritter Bogart. She received her education in New York State and was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy and Westbrook Business College.
On November 2, 1942, she married Rulon Wells Gregory in New York City. Rulon passed away on September 26, 2001.
Jo was employed as a legal secretary and later as a paralegal in Rochester, New York and in Los Angeles, California for over 35 years.
Jo was an avid reader, a lover of animals, especially her cats. She was a family genealogist and had been a member of the Huguenot Society of Pennsylvania; Colonial Dames of the 17th Century; Daughters of the American Colonists; and Daughters of the American Revolution. She had also been a member of Mensa.
Jo was a Parishioner of the St. George Catholic Church where she had served as Lector, Eucharistic Minister and the Parish Council.
She is survived by numerous cousins in New York State and by members of her deceased husband's family.
A Rosary will be held Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 10:30 a.m.,with a Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m., at the St. George Catholic Church, 259 West 200 North, St. George, Utah.
At her request, she will be cremated and her remains will be interred next to her beloved Rulon in Farmington City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
We wish to thank Dr. Kent McDonald, and the fine Staff at Alpha Hospice, Leah, Ashley, Jessica and Megan, who made Jo's final moments peaceful.
