St. George, Utah – With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Joyce Daybell Spilker on January 26, 2022, at the age of 93 due to a stroke and long-term illness from osteomyelitis. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was born May 29, 1928, in Garfield, Utah. Joyce graduated from Granite High School. She married Chris Spilker on June 24, 1947, and they were inseparable for over 74 years.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Chris Spilker. She is the mother of six children: Marsha (Roger) Christensen, Clark (Janet) Spilker, Kevin Spilker, Janna (John) Hall, Chuck (Connie) Spilker, and Mike (Ann) Spilker. She has 24 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren that she adored. She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Thelma Leak Daybell; and her brother, Keith Daybell.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Bloomington Hills 1 ^st Ward Chapel, 1130 East Brigham Road, St. George, Utah. A visitation will be held Saturday, prior to the services, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the St. George City Cemetery located at 600 East Tabernacle Street.
