Obituary

Ogden / Ivins, Utah - Juanita Teresa Caldwell Johnson, 91, passed away September 24, 2015 at Mountain Ridge Assisted Living in the memory care unit in Ogden, Utah. She was born March 9, 1924 at home in Wilson, Idaho to Alva and Mable Caldwell. Juanita was proud to tell people she was her "dad's boy" and she learned to drive the tractor when she was eight years old. Juanita attended the Wilson School where all eight grades were in one room! She graduated from Marsing High School in 1942. She then attended Nampa Business College. She met Irvin Johnson, who was in the Navy, on a blind date and they were married September 23, 1945. Juanita joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when she was 30 years old and has been a lifelong stalwart member! She served in many callings over her lifetime. She and her husband, Irvin were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in 1964. She and her husband served a mission to the Shivwits Indian Reservation. She was a bookkeeper for many years, including Rocky Mountain Company in St. George. She was always very dependable and known for her honesty and integrity in her work. After Irvin's passing, she lived with Diane and Reed Allsop before entering the memory care facility. Juanita is survived by her five children: Pat Bailey of Payette, Idaho, Sherry (Ernie) Bahem of Melba, Idaho, Diane Allsop of Syracuse, Utah, Gary (Rosie) Johnson of Hyrum, Utah and Greg (Jenny) Johnson of Ivins, Utah; and her sister, Laura Messler of Boise, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Johnson; parents; step-father, Horace Dunning; brothers: Emery, Bobby and Clarence; sister, Bernice; sons-in-law: Bart Bailey and Reed Allsop; grandson, Ben Allsop; and great-grandson, Eric Pena. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ivins LDS 10th Ward Chapel, 25 West Center Street, Ivins, Utah. A visitation will be held Saturday, prior to services, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel. Interment will be in the Ivins City Cemetery.
