Obituary

Enterprise, Utah - Juliette Adams Twitchell passed away in her home, surrounded by family on January 14, 2013. Her earthly mission now complete, she is now being welcomed into her new celestial home.

Juliette ("Etta") was born on June 27, 1922, in Cedar City, Utah, to LeRoy and Emeline Zenetta Adams. She was one of 12 children. She lived her entire life in her beloved hometown of Enterprise, Utah. She married Charles F. Twitchell on August 1, 1945, near the end of his service in the US Army during World War II. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. After his release from the service, they settled down in Enterprise and raised seven children, 47 grandchildren, and 106 great grandchildren.

They raised their children working side by side on a family farm where they raised a variety of crops. It was there that she taught her children the importance of hard work, a trait still valued by her children and grandchildren.

Juliette was never a person to sit still for long. She believed in staying busy. She raised a large garden where she spent many hours with her grandchildren. She loved her flower and raspberry beds. She spent hours every fall canning and freezing the fruits of her extensive labors. She enjoyed sewing and needlework. She taught her daughters how to sew their own clothes and she loved giving her grandchildren a quilt upon their graduation from high school.

Juliette loved to read, and she passed that love to her children and grandchildren. Good books were a frequent gift for birthdays and Christmas. As she got older, and was forced to slow down somewhat, she loved reading even more. Later in life, she become a dedicated fan of the Utah Jazz, and rarely missed watching them play on TV. She knew the players and their stats better than all of her grandsons.

Juliette was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in her various callings with faith and dedication. Most of her service in the church was centered on children in the nursery and primary classes. She loved all the children she came in contact with, but most of all she loved her grandchildren. She was never too busy to stop what she was doing when her grandkids came to visit. She took them swimming, hiking, on picnics, and other adventures.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Charles F. Twitchell, six of her seven children: Nancy Wood (Ray) of Eagle, Idaho; Gail Wilcock (Roy) of Enoch, Utah; Janis Jones (Rudy) of Riverdale, Utah; Donna Hulet (the late Robert Hulet) of Enoch, Utah, Charles Wayne Twitchell (Maria) of Enterprise, Utah; and Steven Adams Twitchell (Clairene) of Enterprise, Utah; her son-in-law Robert Holt; as well as two sisters-in-law: Pat Adams (Sherwin), and Loise Adams (Stanley).

She is preceded in death by her daughter, JoAnn Holt; her granddaughters JoLynn Holt and Shantell Marie Wood; two sons-in-law: Lee Grygla and Robert Hulet; her parents and her eight brothers and three sisters: Herman, Winsor, Stanley, Sherwin, Walter, Byron, twin boys Alma and Albert, twin girls Zenetta and Loretta Adams, and Anna Seaman.
