Washington, Utah - Karl Staheli, 90, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015. He was born in 1924 in Enterprise, Utah. He was "one of the twins" born to Jesse LeRoy Staheli and Belle Truman Staheli. Keith and Karl enjoyed the bond of twins throughout their lives. Brothers, Rodney (Maxine) and Keith proceeded him in death. Sisters, Genevieve (Erwin) Farnsworth and Beverly (Richard) Cramer and brother, Norman (Teri) are still living. Karl married Carita Jones on November 24, 1942. They enjoyed 73 years together. After his service in the Navy during WWII, Karl obtained his teaching degree from BYU and taught music in public schools in Enterprise, Hurricane, Richfield and St. George. Karl was a committed believer in Jesus Christ and trilled to be in His service. Studying, teaching, leading, giving blessings and Temple service were a joy in his life. Karl sacrificed everything for his family and loved being with them. Karl and Carita have five children: Allen (Merilyn), Ronald (Jan), Howard (Francelle) Karla and Matthew (Susan); 17 grandchildren; and the 21st great-grandchild on the way. A visitation will be held Sunday, January 18, 2015 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Washington LDS 1st Ward Chapel, 82 North Main Street, Washington, Utah. A visitation will be held Monday, prior to services, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the chapel. Interment will be Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Enterprise City Cemetery.
