St. George, Utah - Kathleen "Kate" Hein, 71, went home to be with the Lord on August 31, 2012. She was born on August 25, 1941 in Colorado Springs, CO to Billy and Eula McConnell.

Kate will be remembered most for her love of Jesus which was evident by the many ways she unselfishly ministered to others, from her children to total strangers.

Kate is survived by her children and grandchildren - Tammy (Moe/Mark) Utter and their children: Brandon, Vanessa, McKenzie and Zack; Bob (Joyce) Lucerne and their children: Andy, Breanna, Tristan, Kyle and Darius; Debi (Yasunori) Yoshimura and their children: Tomomi, Miyuki, Kosuke; Jesse (Stephanie) Hein and their daughter, Sophia. She is also survived by her siblings: Billy (Eloise) McConnell, Pat (Honey-Lou) McConnell, Peggy (Ross) Burris, Sharon (Bob) Vigil and Mary (Dennis) Stonehocker.

A celebration of Kates life will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Calvary Chapel of St. George located at 3922 South Pioneer Road in Bloomington. Visitations will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd. and on Thursday, prior to services, at 10:00 a.m. at the Calvary Chapel.
