IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kathleen Thompson
Holt
January 27, 1934 – November 3, 2024
Washington, UT - Kathleen Thompson Holt, 90, passed away peacefully, with family on November 3, 2024, at her home in South Jordan, Utah. She was born January 27, 1934, the daughter of Mary Ann Smart Thompson and Alfred Reid Thompson. She married John B. de Graffenried in Los Angeles, California, in 1958. Kathy was a devoted caregiver for John until he passed away in 2000. Leaving California Kathy then moved to Washington, Utah across the street from her close cousin Earl White in 2001. It was here where she met her sweetheart James D. Holt. They were married in the St. George Temple in 2004. Again, Kathy took on the role as a loving caregiver for Jim until he passed away in 2019.
She was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the gospel and her Father in Heaven. At age 17 she worked at Pacific Bell/ATT in Los Angeles, California. She worked her way up over the course of 36 years, from reading accounting computer tapes of each call to Regional Management positions. She loved her country and the American flag,
Kathy's life touched many people. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ann Smart Thompson and Alfred Reid Thompson; husbands: John Baker de Graffenried and James D. Holt; and her sister, Marilee Thompson Stockdill. We have no doubt that Kathy will be greeted in the next life by family and her beloved goldendoodle dog Dixie!
In September of 2024 while spending time in the Celestial Room of the Jordan River Temple, Kathy exclaimed, "I am home! Isn't it beautiful!"
