Obituary

Kathy T. Felix, 79, of St. George, Utah, passed away on September 26, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Kathy was born on April 2, 1944, to Earl and Phyllis Thompson in Ogden, Utah. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1962.

Kathy married her high school sweetheart, J. Wayne Felix, on September 9, 1963, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They went on to have four children: Paige Marie, Stephanie Dawn, Mitchell Wayne, and Kami Patrice. Kathy and Wayne lived in Chicago, Illinois, for four years; Rapid City, South Dakota for 2 years; Clearfield, Utah for 4 years and then finally settled in Kaysville, Utah where they raised their family.

Kathy was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life. She served in many callings including the Relief Society, and Young Women's, which she particularly loved. She worked as an ordinance worker in the Bountiful, Utah Temple for several years. From 2005 - 2007, Kathy and Wayne served in the Carlsbad, California mission, where they worked in the mission office. This was the fulfilment of a lifelong dream for the both of them.

Kathy had many hobbies and interests. She loved to travel, whether it was to a beach in Hawaii, exploring Jerusalem, or pulling the trailer up the nearest canyon. She loved to be outside, and faithfully walked at the cemetery for years, even if she had to shovel snow out of her way as she went. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her children and her grandchildren. She was a great cook, and many happy memories were made around the dinner table eating and laughing together. She loved to play games, especially with her grandkids. They can attest that she had a never-ending lucky streak. She was a loving, beautiful, and kind wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed.

Kathy is survived by her husband J. Wayne Felix; children: Paige Adams (Greg), Stephanie Maughan (Dave), Mitchell Felix (Michelle), Kami Adams (Jared); grandchildren: Jessica Levi (Marshall), Connor Felix (Aubrey), Haylee Maughan, Ashlynn Maughan, Jordyn Felix, Brandon Maughan, Bridger Adams; and sister, Sandra Dougher. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law Jacqueline Felix, and brother-in-law Mike Dougher.

The family wishes to thank Spring Gardens Assisted Living staff, where she lived for the past 6 years, as well as the Enhabit Hospice staff, for their loving care of our wife and mother.
