Obituary

Ivins, Utah – KayLynn Loertscher Lindquist, a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at home on February 16, 2025, at the age of 54. She was born on July 27, 1970, in Ogden, Utah, to Gerald Russell Loertscher and Clara "LaReeta" Patrick.

On October 30, 2000, she married the love of her life, Cory Glen Lindquist, in Baltimore, Maryland, and together they built a life filled with love, adventure, and shared purpose. KayLynn spent her early years in Layton, Utah, before moving with her family to Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she graduated high school and attended Laramie Community College. She studied music and accounting before beginning a career in jewelry sales and later worked as an accounts receivable clerk for several companies, including UltraDent Products, before stepping away from the workforce in 2023.

A woman of many passions, KayLynn found joy in music, the outdoors, crocheting, crafts, and most of all, in the company of her family and friends. She was known for her strong work ethic, organizational skills, and unwavering dedication to everything she pursued. She served for 13 years in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, where she was a skilled crew member and held positions at both local and divisional levels. Whether it was music, sports, or crafts, she approached every challenge with precision and excellence.

KayLynn is survived by her loving husband, Cory; her children: Nathen Ritterson of York, Pennsylvania, Alura Ritterson of Salt Lake City, Utah, Amanda Turner (Brandon) of Saratoga Springs, Utah, and Benjamin Lindquist (Katie) of Bremerton, Washington; and seven beloved grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings: Jeffery Loertscher (Claudia), of Midvale, Utah, Russell Loertscher (Kim) of Ogden, Utah, Jaylene McAbee (Eddie) of Kansas City, Kansas, LaMonte Loertscher (Amy) of Springville, Utah, and Dawnell Merchant of Clearfield, Utah. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and LaReeta; and her brother, Sheldon.

KayLynn's kindness, dedication, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of warmth and devotion will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

A celebration of life will be held in her honor, with details to be announced at a later date.

In keeping with KayLynn's generous spirit, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to a children's hospital such as St. Jude's, Primary Children's, or Shriner's.

The family extends our heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and staff at the St. George Regional Hospital and Intermountain Hospice for their unwavering kindness and care they provided KayLynn through her illness.
