Keith Edginton Carter passed away Sept 27th in St George, Utah after a long battle with heart disease, COPD and Alzheimers. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 wives, 2 brothers and his son. His parents were Adrian and Ivy Carter of Chester, Idaho. He had 6 brothers and sisters, Doug, Bill, Bess, Neil, Naoma and Riley Dee. 2 brothers Doug and Neil preceded him in death. He loved going deer and turkey hunting with his brother Neil. He and Neil were well known to put on a great fireworks display on the 4th of July in Kooskia, Id. He lived in Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Oregon and Oklahoma. His favorite place was Island Park, Id. He graduated from South Fremont High in St. Anthony Idaho. Spent a year at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Id., married his high school sweetheart Carol A. Andrasen. They had 2 children. Adrienne Robin Rhoades and Douglas Shane Carter. Carol passed of kidney cancer in 1997. He joined the Marines and served in Korea. He saw heavy action and received several medals and awards. He went to school at Radio Institute Inc. and graduated in 1955. He then started teaching at the school. He started working for the FAA in 1960. He retired in 1989 in Cedar City, Utah After Carol passed, he married Afton Lee Wagner of St. George and she passed of COPD several years later. He married Linda Young who became his favorite golfing partner. They were married for 5 years. He loved to hunt, fish, golf and travel. He always considered himself as an adopted child of the Foy family. He and his best friend Vern Foy always went hunting and fishing together. He joined the Sunset Jay-Cs. and was inducted as a life-long member of the Jay-Cs. He volunteered as a little league football coach in Sunset Utah until he was transferred to Cedar City. Later he moved to St. George Ut. He took up golfing when he retired and made new and lasting friendships from the golf courses. He had 2 Holes-in-one at the Southgate Golf Course in St George, Ut. Surviving members of the family are his wife, Linda Young Carter, his father-in-law Marvin Young, his brothers and sisters, Bill Carter, WA, Bess Lowther, OR, Naoma Ringle (Roy) ID, Riley Dee Carter, WA, his daughter Robin (Lee) Rhoades, UT, 3 special people he considered like his own children, Gary, Wayne and Randy Foy. 9 grandchildren and adopted grandchildren, Jason Shiba, UT, Cecil Rhoades UT, Rachele Rhoades, MT, Cassy Carter FL, Christopher Carter (Tricia) FL, Lisa Hawn ID, Jason Miles (Wendy)UT, Candice Isom, GA, and Hunter Carter, GA. 13 great-grandchildren, and over 30 nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Interment will be in Wilford, Idaho. Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
