Obituary

Keith Theodore Van Soest, 88, passed away on October 18, 2017 at Intermountain Health Care in Murray, Utah.  Keith was born in Terschelling, The Netherlands to Agatha A. and Zeger A. Van Soest, February 11, 1929.  He married Dorothea Van De Velde, December, 1952, and after her passing he married Olivia Rojas, January, 2001.
He received a degree from the University of Alberta in the Classics.  He has lived in his home country, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Canada, and the United States.  Keith never stopped studying, was an avid reader and world traveler.  He was a meticulous translator, being very gifted in languages, knowing 4, plus ancient Latin, and Greek.
He is survived by his wife, Oliva Rojas, 3 children: Tony (Anne) Van Soest from Kirksville, MO, Julia (Michael) McClung from Medicine Hat AB, Canada, and Joanna (Jeffrey) Lyons from Cedar Hills, UT.  He has 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren.  He also has one surviving sibling, Ton (Hetty) Van Soest, residing in The Netherlands.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Sundberg/Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem, Utah.  A visitation will be held prior to services at 9:30. Graveside Services will be held at the Toquerville City Cemetery, Toquerville, Utah, following the services at 4:00 p.m.
