IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Keith Russel
Walker, Jr.
September 29, 1953 – March 26, 2024
Ivins, Utah - Keith completed the final project of his earthly journey and graduated to the other side of the veil on March 26, 2024 at his home in Ivins, Utah surrounded by those closest to him and held in the hearts of so many who have been endeared to him throughout his life.
Keith Russel Walker, Jr. was born to Keith and Dorothy Woods Walker in Alhambra, California. Here his entrepreneurial spirit began; picking the publicly accessible avocados, taking them around the corner, and selling them to passersby to earn enough to purchase his movie ticket for the day. He could sell ice to an Eskimo. He supported his many passions selling Cutco knives, Kirby vacuums, and eventually home theaters and home automation systems. In this, Keith was a visionary, designing and installing smart home technology well before it was woven into our modern life.
He held firmly to his faith and served in the Japan Kobe Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After he returned, he met Linda Reyna, a flight attendant based in San Francisco, and the most beautiful woman he had ever met. They married on November 3, 1978, in the Los Angeles Temple and moved to Sandy, UT while they were attending BYU. Eventually Keith's business took them to Oakley, UT where they raised their three boys. As empty nesters, they served two service missions in Tuba City, AZ on the Navajo Reservation teaching gardening and self-sufficiency to the community.
He ALWAYS had a project. Building model train environments, designing homes, pools, and gardens, and possibly his biggest undertaking, the restoration of the Road Island Diner in Oakley, Utah. He felt so blessed to be in a position to conduct research for his projects by traveling the world. He enjoyed visiting every corner of the globe, but Italy had his heart.
Keith was the fun coordinator for his closest friends and family and planned all manner of adventure and thrill seeking. He embraced the family motto, "Who has more fun than we do? …. No one!" He would find the most unusual accommodations, immersive attractions, and always got you a bit out of your comfort zone. Lake Powell ranked highly in all these categories and its magnetism held Keith's curiosity year after year.
Keith is survived by his wife, Linda; sons: Kurt of Las Vegas, NV, West (Jessica) of Santa Clara, UT, and Ross of Salt Lake City, UT; four grandchildren: Talia, Enzo, Roman, and Marina; siblings: Wendy (Jim) Pedersen of Navarre, FL, Gary (Sue) of Blackfoot, ID, Terri (Kevin) Dunn of Ivins, UT, Jeff (Susan) of Ivins, UT, Rick (Yuhua) of Alpine, UT, Greg (Lisa) of American Fork, UT, Darren (Janelle) of Ivins, UT; mother-in-law, Lorna Del Alder Golmis of Reno, NV; and sister-in-law, Luz (Denver) Miller of Reno, NV. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Mykal Hagler; and father-in-law, Theodore Lynn Golmis.
Keith believed deeply in using your talents and gifts to bless the lives of others. In lieu of flowers, please bless the life of someone around you in your own style.
