St. George, Utah -Keith W Welch, a beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2013, at the age of 81. He was born in Tremonton, UT on March 5, 1932 to William Charles Welch and Verda Farnes Welch. He married Veda Ranae Reid on March 16, 1956 in the Salt Lake City temple. They were married for 51 wonderful years, they are the parents of six children. Keith grew up on a farm in Tremonton, UT with four brothers. After high school graduation, he and some friends joined the military. He served as a Marine during the Korean War. When he returned home he attended BYU, where he met Veda his eternal sweetheart. As an active and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he enjoyed serving in various leadership callings throughout his life. Keith and Veda served two full time missions for the church in Riga, Latvia (Lithuania Vilnius Mission) and in the Ukraine Donetsk Mission. He was a kind and loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He enjoyed woodworking, the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He loved to travel and visit family and friends. We will all miss his quick humor and loving kindness. He is survived by his children: Phil (Julie) Welch, Tokyo, Japan; Doug (Anny) Welch, Pendleton, OR; Jennifer Welch, Auburn, WA; Chuck (Penny) Welch, Lehi, UT; Andy (Kristi) Welch, Statesboro, GA; Stephanie (Matt) Ball, Shelley, ID; 24 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Keith is also survived by his brothers: George (Dyan), Corinne UT; Cyril (LaPriel) Brigham City UT; Terry (Hope) North Salt Lake, UT. He was preceded in death by his sweet wife, parents, and brother Phillip Arnold Welch. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 11, 2013, at 2:00 pm, at the LDS Chapel, 70 South 300 West, La Verkin, UT. A viewing will be held Sunday March 10, 2013, at the Metcalf Hurricane Valley Mortuary at 140 North Main, Hurricane, UT from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday prior to the funeral services at the chapel from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Interment will be Tuesday March 12, 2013, at 2:00 pm at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery, 1997 South 400 East, Springville, UT.
