Kenneth Gustav Ence passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2009. He was born on December 22, 1943 to Kenneth and Anneliese Ence. He served a faithful mission in the Northeast British Mission. He married Susan Ashcroft in the St. George temple on January 26, 1967. He served in the U.S. Air Force before building a successful dental practice in Las Vegas. He retired from dentistry in 1990 after an ATV accident, which rendered him a quadriplegic. He and his wife moved to Santa Clara in 1999 where he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Ken loved being outside, working with his hands, and attending the temple. He is survived by his wife (Susan), five children and their spouses (Adrienne and Steve Magnesen, Heather and Phil Layman, Holly and Craig Hansen, Robyn and Mark Chatterley, and Ken and Barbara Ence), thirteen grandchildren, his mother (Anneliese Ence), and three brothers (John, Jim, and Greg). Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at the Santa Clara Valley Chapel. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, UT., and again on Saturday morning for an hour before the services. Interment will be at the Santa Clara City Cemetery.
