Obituary

Washington, Utah - Kenneth Larry "Pappy" Westover, 72, passed away suddenly and quite unexpectedly on Monday, September 12, 2022 presumably due to unseen complications following an injury sustained over the weekend.

Larry was born on October 27, 1949 to Kenneth Hardy Westover and Jenadora Beck Westover. He grew up in Redondo Beach, CA and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of his life serving his mission in Australia. Following his mission he attended BYU from 1974-1980 where he received his bachelors degree in Art and Design followed by a Master of Fine Arts Degree. After working some years as a freelance artist he taught for 24 years at El Segundo High School in CA.

On March 18, 2000 he married Karen Anne (Jensen) Sarasalo (the great love of his life and eternal soulmate) in the Los Angeles, CA temple. Together their lives were filled with family, friends and frequent travel all over the world. They moved to Washington, UT in 2014. By this time they had both officially retired but were never idle. This came as no surprise as one of Larrys favorite hymns was "Have I Done Any Good in the World Today?" and that is exactly who Larry was (is), someone who was always looking for ways to do good for anyone who was fortunate enough to have known him.

Larry is survived by his loving wife Karen; his daughter Jamie Sarasalo; his granddaughter Ella Sarasalo; Josh (nephew) and Michele Boatright, their children Kyle, Taylor, Mason, Kate and Lily; Derek Keller, his children Austin, Kason, Meghan, Jaxon and Ryan; Carol (niece) Boatright, her children Savanna and Joshua; Jim (nephew) and Sara Boatright, their children Derek, Drew, Jaden, Rhett and Layfe; Noelle (niece) Boatright, her children Bradley, Jesse, Dillon, Sierra, and Ian.

Larry was preceded in death by his mom and dad; his sister Kathy Boatright; his niece Jennifer Keller; and many much beloved family pets most recently his golden retriever Molly.
