IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kevin Bruce
Mccall
January 6, 1957 – September 25, 2024
Kevin Bruce McCall, 67, passed away September 25, 2024, surrounded by family, in St. George, Utah after a brief illness. He was born January 6, 1957, in Huntington Park, California to Harold Hugh "Mac" McCall and Phyllis Joan McCall (nee Jacobs).
Kevin and family moved to Downey, California in 1963. He remained in California until 2021, when he then retired to Mesquite, Nevada (another goal met). He enjoyed his new community and embraced the desert in his beautiful scenic home.
A meticulous and dedicated Tooling/Design Engineer, Kevin devoted 42 years to his profession, culminating in a fulfilling tenure at Aerojet Rocketdyne in Rancho Cordova, California. He was instrumental in the design and implementation of the tooling for the Atlas 5 Program. He also worked on projects including Minuteman, JSOW, Peregrine and LC2, but Atlas 5 was his baby. He was highly respected by his peers.
Kevin was also involved in projects supporting his community. He maintained a snack bar in his office at Aerojet Rocketdyne. The money raised was used to buy bicycles and toys for the annual toy drive supporting underserved children in the Sacramento area.
Kevin also had a love of any type of car racing, from Nascar to open wheels of all types.
Kevin's passion for engineering and car racing was matched only by his love for his family and friends. He will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his work, his kindness, thoughtfulness and his ability to inspire those around him.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sisters: Sheryl McCall Mallett of Redwood City, California, Linde McCall Carter (Dick) of Greenehaven, Arizona and Leslie McCall of Los Angeles, California. Additionally, Kevin had an extended family that included his nieces and nephews and their respective families, whom he thoroughly enjoyed.
Kevin will be interred at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, California alongside his parents.
