– Kirk Ralph Jacobson, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away May 24, 2017, at the age of 59. He was born October 5, 1957 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and was raised by loving parents, Lindsay and Martha Jacobson.
Kirk graduated from Valley High School in 1975. After graduation he attended Dixie State College for one year prior to accepting his call to serve an LDS mission to the Washington Seattle Mission from 1976-1978. After his faithful mission service, he attended Brigham Young University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting in 1982.
Kirk married Brenda Kay Allen in the St. George LDS Temple on August 16, 1980. Kirk diligently worked for over 30 years as a CPA in Las Vegas, specializing in auto dealerships, auditing, and fraud detection. He was also a founding partner of a successful and award-winning local firm. He served as a board member for various charities and organizations.
Kirk faithfully served in many callings within the LDS Church. He especially enjoyed his work with the Boy Scouts. Kirk was an avid reader and enjoyed keeping up with all sports. He loved spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren and relaxing in Pine Valley, Utah.
Kirk will be greatly missed by his wife, Brenda; four children and their spouses: Lindsay (Tate) Eliason, Ryan (Maggie) Jacobson, Kristine (Steven) Canfield, and Trevor Jacobson; and four grandchildren. His parents and brother, Matt Jacobson, were there in heaven to welcome him home. He will shortly send down two more sweet grandchildren from heaven.
A celebration of Kirk's life
will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the LDS Church located at
1801 S. Monte Cristo Way, Las Vegas, Nevada
. Viewings will be held at the church Friday, June 2nd from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, prior to services, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Interment will be in
the Pine Valley Cemetery, Pine Valley, Utah at 4:00 p.m. Utah time.
Donations may be made to Safe Nest or flowers may be sent to the church beginning at 4 p.m. Friday.
