St. George, Utah - Kreg Meier Kolb, 47, passed away peacefully in his home, after a very courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease) on May 25, 2011. Born on February 19, 1964, the oldest of seven, to Ty and Vivian Kolb in Elko, Nevada. He met his sweetheart, Mindy, when they were growing up in the same neighborhood in West Valley City. They were married on November 12, 1985 and later sealed in the St. George LDS Temple on December 10, 1994. He moved his family down to St. George in 1993. They all ended up loving it here and it came to feel like home. They soon realized that it was where they were supposed to be. Kreg loved his family more than anything. They were his first priority and he always made time to spend with them. They knew he loved them. Kreg was a big tease and loved to laugh. He had a special talent of finding the humor in things. He made things fun and always had a mischievous twinkle in his eye. He was always ready and willing to help anyone who needed anything and was well known for saying "You better believe it". He called his time with ALS his opportunity in life and was very positive, always saying "Its another beautiful day in St. George,"(even at the darkest times). He never complained and was often heard reassuring others with his typical "no worries", a nod of his head, and a smile. Everyone who had the blessing of knowing Kreg could feel of his kind spirit and genuine love for everyone - no matter who they were. He had a way of making people feel special and loved. His huge heart and eternal optimism - no matter what life seemed to throw at him - touched and changed countless lives for the better. Kreg is survived by his wife, Mindy; children: Kalli, Zack (Sarah) and Haylee; siblings: Tyanne (Darin) Kent (Becky), Tawannee (Alesha), Klayton (Rachelle), Taylor (Jodi) and Katy (Bart); parents: Ty and Vivian; many nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at the Red Cliffs 1st Ward LDS Chapel, 259 North Mall Drive, St. George, Utah. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, prior to services, from 9:30 a.m to 11:30 a.m. at the Chapel. Interment will be at the Washington City Cemetery.
