Obituary

Larue Sheeley Tucker, age 85, peacefully returned home to her Heavenly Father on June 25, 2009 in Cedar City, Utah. She was born February 9, 1924 in Hershey, Pennsylvania to Mark O. Sheeley, Sr. and Helen Moats Sheeley. She married Grant Cartis Tucker, June 10, 1949 in the St. George Temple and they just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Larue and her twin sister were the first set of twins born in Hershey. She graduated from Hershey High School with a business degree and went to work in the Hershey Department Store. When her twin married and moved west Larue came out to visit, met her sweetheart Grant, married him and stayed in Cedar City where they lived for 30 years. They spent the last 30 years in Bloomington, Utah. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had many callings including Primary president, Primary teacher, and Relief Society president. She loved working with the youth and working in the temple. She enjoyed working in her yard and gardens, her roses, crocheting, crafts, and collecting salt and pepper shakers. But, most of all she loved her family and spending time with them. She is survived by her husband Grant C. Tucker; children: Clarisse (James) Lunt, Cedar City; Tanya Tucker, Ogden; Kathy Tucker, St. George; and Helen (Ted) Boyack; grandchildren: Shona (Jerry) Early, Jessica (Brandon) Hathcock, Becca Lunt, David J. Lunt, Brittney Boyack and Bailey Boyack; great grandchildren: Cole Early, Ashley Early, Riley Hathcock, Gage Hathcock and "Sadie Sue" her loving puppy. She was preceded in death by two sons: Keith Sheeley Tucker and Tim Sheeley Tucker; parents, Mark O and Helen Sheeley, Sr.; twin sister, Louise Sheeley Fellows; brothers, Mark O Sheeley Jr. and Richard M. Sheeley and sister-in-law, Jane Sheeley. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bloomington LDS Stake Center, 200 W. Brigham Road, Bloomington, Utah. Visitations will be Monday, June 29, 2009, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary in St. George and Tuesday, June 30, 2009 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Bloomington Stake Center.
