Hurricane, Utah - LaVell C. Olson, 77, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at his home with his wife and family by his side. He was born December 1, 1935 in Santaquin, Utah to Carl and Rhoda Olson. He married Sharon Kay Franklin on April 19, 1958. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

LaVell is survived by his wife, Sharon Kay Olson of Hurricane; two sons: Benny Olson of Hurricane, and Barry Olson of Phoenix, Arizona; two daughters: Bonnie Olson of Phoenix, Arizona, and Billie Jo Needles of Parker, Colorado; four granddaughters: Miranda, Carlie, Neve, and Mia Needles; and four sisters: Merlene, Kathy, Joyce, and Sherry. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lynn Olson.

LaVell enjoyed watching sports, cooking for friends and family, fishing, hunting, camping, and traveling with Sharon and their friends to beautiful sceneries in their trailer.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Red Cliffs 7th Branch (ASL), 1155 North 1400 West, St. George, Utah. A visitation will be held prior to services, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m at the Chapel. Interment will be held at the Hurricane City Cemetery.
