Leon Floyd Sanders was born March 5, 1937, in Terre Haute, Indiana and died June 11, 2025, in Denver, Colorado. Elder Sanders spent 46 years and 7 months working faithfully for the Seventh-day Adventist Church. During those years he worked in the Arkansas-Louisiana Conference, at the White Memorial Hospital, the Wyoming Conference, for Adventist Health System/West, and for the last nearly 28 years served in Pacific Union Conference in the Treasures office concluding as the Treasurer for the last 7 years. He was a graduate of Ozark Adventist Academy and Union College in Lincoln Nebraska.
He was married in 1957 to Doris Browning, and they had three children - Ronald Leon Sanders, Cheryl LeAnn Beauchamp, and Teresa Lynn Hochstedler. Elder Sanders served on number of major boards and committees and was not only a Certified Public Account but also a Certified Fraud Examiner. He was also an ordained minister of the SDA Church.
Leon Sanders was preceded in death by his wife of almost 64 years, Doris; and his son, Ron. He is survived by his two daughters, his son-in-law, Mark and five grandchildren. He now rests after nearly 48 years of dedicated service awaiting the trumpet call where he will be reunited with his friends and family.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Tonaquint Cemetery, 1777 South Dixie Drive, St. George, Utah.
