Obituary

Riverton, Utah - Leslie Ensign Bess, our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister passed away on June 7, 2014 in Riverton, Utah. Leslie was born February 5, 1918 and was the daughter of Leslie English Ensign and Clara Morris Ensign. She was the second of five daughters. She married Vernal Edward Bess on August 8, 1936 in Coalville, Utah. Together they had two daughters, Shanna (David) Hansen and Vicki (Jerry) Reznick. Vern and Leslie worked to build a wonderful life together. They were able to retire and enjoy many wonderful years with family and friends in St. George. Throughout her life, Leslie was very active and enjoyed bowling, golfing, dancing, hand work, painting, crosswords and, amazingly enough, water aerobics at age 90. Leslie lived life fully and endured to the end. More than anything, Leslie loved her family. Her grandchildren brought her great joy, and she felt blessed to be a great-grandmother. Leslie is survived by her two daughters; six grandchildren: Chris (Stacy), Mark (Aimee), Matt (April) and Nick (Kelsey) Hansen, Jeff (Jenn) Reznick, and Jennifer (Jason) Watkins; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruby Blanke; and many nieces and nephews. Leslie was preceded in death by her husband, Vern; infant son; parents; and her sisters: Myrza, Beth, Florence and Ruth. The family wishes to express their love and appreciation to those who cared for our mom at Brighton House during the last few years of her life. Family and friends are invited to join in a celebration of Leslies life on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 South 200 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. Graveside services will follow at the Salt Lake Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673 4221.
