ST. GEORGE, UTAH - Lester Ervin Les Modderman, age 65, died June 15, 2010 at his home. He was born August 20, 1944 in Albert Lea, Minnesota to Helmer Theodore and Beulah Irene Blanshan Modderman. He married Doris Darleen Carpenter October 31, 1975 in Sisters, Oregon. Lester lived in Lebanon, Oregon for 56 years. He started his own industrial construction company in May of 1981 and worked for many large lumber and paper companies until he retired in 2001. He was an avid skier and instructed skiing for 15 years. He loved to golf, ride horses, hunt and travel the world. Lester and Doris moved to SunRiver several years ago. Lester was a wonderful and caring husband, father and grandfather. He was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Doris of St. George; two sons, Todd Michael Modderman of Rapid City, South Dakota and Rodney Alan (Beverly) Modderman of Stow, Ohio; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Albert (Charlene) Modderman of Salt Lake City, Utah and David (Patti) Modderman of Goodyear, Arizona; two sisters, Grace (Ted) Peoples of Portland, Oregon and Faith (Edwin) Townsend of Bend, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his dog LeRoy. Memorial services will be held Monday, June 21, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the SunRiver Community Center, 4275 South Country Club Drive, St. George, Utah.
