Obituary

Bountiful, Utah – Lila Rae Fullerton Lunt passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, in Bountiful, Utah at the age of 92. She was born May 28, 1933, in Hurricane, Utah, to James McCray and Blanche Petty Fullerton. She grew up in Pioche, Nevada, until she was 12 years old and then moved to Cedar City, Utah, where she met her sweetheart Nicholas Lunt. They were married on September 10, 1954, in Cedar City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Utah Temple. After their marriage, they moved to Logan where Nick completed school and later served in the military. During this time, Lila supported the family working in the banking industry.

After their military service, they moved to Bountiful, Utah, where they raised their family. They loved living in Bountiful where they made many friends and were surrounded by wonderful neighbors who became like family, especially the youth.

After retirement, Lila and Nick returned to their beloved Southern Utah and settled in St. George, where once again they were blessed with wonderful friends and neighbors. They would spend the winter in St. George and the summer at their cabin on Cedar Mountain. This was their heaven on earth.

Lila was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was always sensitive to the needs of others. She spent many years taking care of Nick after his diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. After Nick passed away, Lila continued to live in St. George until the age of 90. She then moved back to Bountiful, in the home where she raised her children, with her son Brad and his wife Beth where she was lovingly cared for by her children. Terri and Lori are very grateful to Brad and Beth for taking her into their home. We would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Oakridge Assisted Living where she spent the last months of her life.

Lila was known for her infectious laughter and unwavering love for all of her family and had a special relationship with her nieces and nephews.

Lila is survived by her three children: Terri (Kirk) Hodgkinson, Lori (Michael) Hatch, Brad (Beth) Lunt; 6 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and her brother, Jim Fullerton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick; her brother, Lloyd; and her sister, Cecile.

When you met Lila, she made you feel like you had always been friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., with a viewing prior from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., in the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. She will be laid to rest at Tonaquint Cemetery, 1777 South Dixie Drive, St. George, Utah.
